How to look your best on your wedding day?

wedding day

The wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and it’s understandable that you want to look your best.

You must have imagined yourself walking down the aisle with all eyes on you. It is important to think about your makeup, wedding dress, and hairdo but the real beauty comes from within. And for that, you need to follow a healthy lifestyle long before the wedding day.

Here are a few things to do.

1. See your dermatologist

It goes without saying that flawless skin should be your top priority under a beauty regimen for your wedding day. While there are many home remedies to make your skin beautiful, you should always start with going to your dermatologist.

A dermatologist will assess your skin’s current state and prescribe a strategy to make your skin glow. Be it the irritating blackheads or forehead wrinkles, a skin specialist can give a solution to your problems. However, it should not be when the wedding day is looming over your head. Set an appointment as soon as you have decided on the big day.

2. Start a skincare beauty regime

It will help if you begin a skincare routine as soon as the date gets decided. Start washing your face twice a day with a cleanser and lukewarm water. Do not forget to remove makeup before going to bed. Use a gentle makeup remover before washing your face.

Moisturize your skin daily for its revitalization and protection. Even if you have oily skin, you should moisturize every day after washing your face every morning and every night. Moisturize after taking a bath as well for taking a shower or bath dries the skin. Buy a moisturizer that is formulated especially for your skin type.

Moreover, protect your skin again ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun. Wear sunscreen to retain your skin’s glow and healthy look. Sunscreen also reduces the risk of skin cancer. Wear sunscreen 30 minutes before going outside during the day and apply it to all the exposed body parts. Reapply if you are in the sun for long. The directions for reapplication are given on the sunscreen bottle.

If you have oily or sensitive skin, get yourself a water-based sunscreen.

3. Eat Healthy

You would want to get your body in good shape before you walk down the aisle. But healthy eating is not just about weight loss and good body shape. It is more about keeping you healthy and helping you go about your tough routine smoothly. You are about to enter a new phase of your life, and it is wise that you start a healthy routine beforehand. Besides, eating healthy would make your skin glow.

Take a balanced diet—one that contains the essential nutrients. Take proteins and avoid too many carbs. Eat fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water. Take multivitamins and other supplements after consulting with your doctor. It’s good to plan for your wedding ring or dress in advance but it is equally important to plan and follow a healthy diet.

4. Take care of your hair

Your hair is going to play a decisive role in shaping your overall appearance. If you want to have long, luscious hair on the big day, start taking care of your hair immediately. Let your hair grow and just trim a little after every few months.

Avoid over-shampooing, as it leaves the hair color dull and faded. Do not shampoo more than three times a week. Moreover, do not forget to use a conditioner. You may get a deep conditioning treatment from a salon or do that at home. Add a few drops of vitamin E in a hair mask or conditioner when doing it at home. Repeat this process every week. Start conditioning your hair at least three months before the wedding day.

5. Sleep Well

This can’t be stressed enough. Good sleep is crucial to your mental health, physical health, and your energy levels. It also influences one’s appearance. You cannot look your best if you don’t have enough sleep. The tiredness will show on your face no matter how good is your makeup artist.

If you want to keep the stress at bay and make your wedding preparations seamless, you have to take at least seven-hour sleep till the big day.
